Nature

it has been a long time since I have been to red wing park or out in nature for that fact. I had not relized how much being in nature eased my soul till a class I am taking on herbs pushed me back out in to that and a need to reconnect with spirit.

redwing was the first place I went when I decided I wanted to walk in the woods, I remembered how my nerves where tattered then cause I stress and had not been in the woods. I jumped at the slighest sound and still in that nervousness I found the beauty and aw of natures complexity. I laughed and giggled like a little kid as my shoes sand in the over saturated mud, feeling the cold and wetness as it seeped into my shoes with my vain attempt to hop out and walk lightly.

all these memories come to me now as I walk in the autum light through the trees colored green, yellow and red. I smell the fragrace of pine drifting down from the trees and rising from the ground as I step on newly fallen pieces.

Pine used for genration as a decorative scent for the home, and in rituals of various religions and generation before that as medicine. pine used for tummy aches and..... I move to a different side of the park as the winds change and the intoxicating ell of gardenia fill my senses and pull memories from the dusty shelves of my mind. Following my nose I search out where the plant is and tho three is not a flower seen in bloom or even decay the fragrance lingers on.

I follow the trails searching out the herbs I have read about and used to try and identify them, talk to them smell and hear them. getting to know them in more. than just words in a book

This is how I learn my herbalism and reconnect with nature. this is how I am taught to notice to smallest of details to become a more affective healer.

Systems of the Human Body

In our middle school and teenage years we went to health class  could not wait to get out of class.. little did we know or realize that those systems we glazed over in class  held a deeper  understanding than we could fathom at that time.

Well now in the age of health care issues, quick fix diets, fast pace lives and geneticallyrevisit those lesson and get a far better understanding of  what we are made of and how we work as a whole. The body is made up of several systems. We will be going Thur each in enough detail  to understand the importance of proper diet and  health.  We will also see how all aspects of your life  Mind, body and spirit and soul affect your body and how it responds... altered foods we need to
In the process I hope to show how the relation between each is so vastly important and how it can affect of to neglect even one aspect can affect us..

There are 12 systems to the human body: We will discuss  in the next post is the Integumentary system  know to most as the Skin, Hair and Nails

Laundry Tips

My dryer died a few weeks ago and I have had to resort to  hanging close on the line. If you are not familiar with that idea of a clothes line ask your mother or grandmother I am sure they are. I  try to be as eco-conscious as possible which left me in need of a way to  soften my clothes as line drying leaves them stiff. which also explains why everything was ironed... I have a few books I fall back on when in need of ways to  save money and use little to no chemicals..

The book is call Homemade 702 ways to save money and the Earth by Readers Digest
